Rico Crowder (2023)

University of Kentucky

Rico Crowder is a former three-sport standout from Glasgow High School who is currently on roster at the University of Kentucky.

High School Career at Glasgow:
A versatile 6'4", 191-lb athlete, Crowder was a two-year starter for the Scotties football team.

Football: In his senior season, he led the team with 40 receptions for 767 yards and 9 touchdowns, charting 2,012 all-purpose yards. He earned First-Team All-SKY Conference honors for his performance on offense.

Athleticism: He gained attention at a University of Kentucky summer camp by running a 4.42-second 40-yard dash, which eventually led to his collegiate offer.

Multi-Sport Success: Crowder also earned three letters each in basketball and track. In basketball, he averaged 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds during his junior year.

College Career:
Crowder is presently on the University of Kentucky's roster and has served primarily as a trusty special-teams player.

Dalvin Smith (2018)

Western Kentucky University

Dalvin Smith is a former multi-sport standout from Glasgow High School who played six seasons of college football for Western Kentucky University (WKU). In October 2025, he officially signed to play professionally with the Jacksonville Sharks of the Indoor Football League (IFL) for the 2026 season.

High School Career at Glasgow:
Smith was a highly versatile athlete for the Scotties, playing multiple positions and leading his teams in football, basketball, and track.

Football: As a senior, he was a dual-threat star, throwing for 920 yards (13 TDs), rushing for 582 yards (8 TDs), and catching 20 passes for 444 yards (7 TDs). Defensively, he recorded three interceptions and was named First-Team All-SKY Conference as a defensive back.

Track & Field: A top sprinter, he recorded a personal record of 11.43 seconds in the 100m dash at the 2017 KHSAA Class 1A State Meet. He won regional titles in both the 100m and 200m events that same year.

Recruiting: Rated a three-star prospect, he signed with WKU in February 2018 as a "grayshirt" recruit.

College Career at WKU (2019–2024):
Smith became known as "Mr. Bowl Game" for his habit of making spectacular plays in postseason matchups.

Key Highlights: In the 2023 Famous Toastery Bowl, he caught two one-handed touchdowns in a dramatic comeback win.

Career Stats: He finished his Hilltopper career with 131 receptions for 1,571 yards and 21 touchdowns, tying him for the fifth-most receiving touchdowns in school history.

Community: Off the field, he was a nominee for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy and the AFCA Good Works Team in 2024 for his extensive local service.

LaJuan Smith (2012)

Eastern Kentucky University

LaJuan Smith is a notable former multi-sport athlete from Glasgow High School who went on to play college football at Eastern Kentucky University.

High School Athletic Career:
During his time as a Glasgow Scottie, Smith was a key contributor in football, basketball, and track.
Football: A versatile 6'3", 205-lb athlete, he played wide receiver and defensive back. In his 2011 senior season, he recorded 26 receptions for 569 yards and five touchdowns, helping lead Glasgow to the Class 2A State Championship game.
Basketball: He played forward for the Scotties and was a member of the varsity roster during the 2011-12 season.
Track & Field: Smith was a standout sprinter, winning Class 1A State Titles in 2012 as a member of both the 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams.

College & Professional Transition:
Commitment: In January 2012, Smith committed to Eastern Kentucky University, where coaches recruited him for his potential as a defensive standout at cornerback, safety, or linebacker.

Post-College: Following his playing career, he returned to the Glasgow community, serving as an Assistant Football Coach for Glasgow Independent Schools from 2019 to 2022.

Hunter Bowles (2012)

University of Louisville

Hunter Bowles is a former multi-sport standout from Glasgow High School who played college football for the University of Louisville. He is the older brother of Tanner Bowles, a former Alabama and Kentucky offensive lineman.

High School Athletic Career:
At Glasgow, Bowles was a 6'5", 245-lb athlete known primarily for his dominance as a tight end and defensive end.

Football: Rated as a two-star prospect by Rivals and ESPN, he recorded 349 receiving yards and six touchdowns during his junior season. He was a key part of the 2011 Scotties team that reached the Class 2A State Championship game.

Multi-Sport Participation: He also competed for the Scotties in basketball and baseball.

College and Career:

College Football: He committed to Louisville in September 2011, choosing the Cardinals over offers from Kentucky and Marshall. He redshirted his freshman year in 2012 and graduated from the University of Louisville in 2016.

Professional Life: Following his athletic career, Bowles transitioned into aviation. He is currently a Commercial Pilot after completing training at ATP Flight School in 2023.

Tanner Bowles (2019)

University of Alabama/University of Kentucky

Tanner Bowles is a former four-star offensive lineman for Glasgow High School who played college football at both the University of Alabama and the University of Kentucky. Bowles is the most highly decorated collegiate recruit of all-time in Glasgow history.

High School Career at Glasgow:

Recruiting: Rated a four-star prospect and the No. 3 player in Kentucky by ESPN and 247Sports.

Accolades: Named the Fourth Region Athletic Directors Association Player of the Year in 2018 and was a two-time District Player of the Year (2017–18).

Team Success: Led the Scotties to three consecutive district championships and a regional title in 2017.

Other Sports: He also competed in track and field, specifically in shot put and discus.

College Career:

Alabama (2019–2022): Bowles played 19 games for the Crimson Tide, primarily as a reserve guard and on special teams. He was part of the 2020 National Championship squad.

Kentucky (2023): He transferred to UK Athletics as a graduate transfer in January 2023.

Jerrick Martin (2026)

Missouri State University

Jerrick Martin is a standout multi-sport senior at Glasgow High School (Class of 2026). A three-star recruit, he officially signed with Missouri State University on December 1, 2025, to play college football.

Athletic Profile:
Martin is recognized for his exceptional athleticism across football, basketball, and track.

Football: As a 6'3", 190-lb wide receiver and defensive back, he recorded 556 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns during his 2025 senior season. He earned First-Team All-SKY Conference honors for his performance.

Basketball: A 6'5" power forward/small forward, he reached a major career milestone on January 20, 2026, by recording his 500th career rebound during a game against Warren Central.

Track & Field: During his junior year, he broke the school's long jump record and won the Class 1A State Title in the long jump with a mark of 23-3.5.

Recruiting & Recognition:
College Commitment: Chose Missouri State over offers from Murray State and West Georgia.
Rankings: Rated as a top 20 prospect in Kentucky for the 2026 class by 247Sports and On3.
